Jeremiah Headlee was born in Perry Township, Greene county, Pa. Sept. 1, 1825, and died at
his home near Pleasant Valley M. E. Church in Monongalia Co., W. Va., Oct. 26, 1899. He
was converted and united with the M. E. church more than forty years ago, where he remained
loyal to God and faithful to the church until death. For a year or more, Bro. Headlee's
health was not good, but he suffered patiently. In his last illness he possessed great
peace, and was anxious to be released from suffering and be at rest. He leaves a son,
John and a daughter, Mrs. Poling, to mourn their loss. His wife and three children preceded
him to the world beyond. The funeral service was conducted by his pastor at the family
residence after which the body was laid to rest in the family burying ground near Cassville.
