OSCAR A. HEADLEE

Oscar A. Headlee, 87, of Spraggs, died Tuesday evening, March 25, 1958, in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, W. Va., after a short illness.

He was born Jan. 18, 1871, in Mt. Morris and spent most of his life as a resident of Greene County.

He was the son of Washington G. and Mary Jane Lemley Headlee and was the husband of Hannah Mariner Headlee who died 25 years ago.

He was a member of the Valley Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church near Brock and was a Sunday School superintendent at that church for 33 years.

He is survived by five sons, H. Russell of Mt. Morris, Charles E. of Pittsburgh, Alvah J. W. of Morgantown, W. Va., Harry G. of Silver Springs, Md., and W. Ralph of Shepardstown, W. Va.

He is also survived by one brother, Benson, of Pataskala, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.


HEADLEE - Friends of Oscar A. Headlee, former resident of Spraggs, who died Tuesday, March 25, 1958, are being received at the Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown, W. Va. until 12 noon Friday, March 28, when services wil be held at 2 p.m. at the Valley Chapel Methodist Church near Brock with Rev. Dean Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery at Mt. Morris.

Oscar A. Headlee, 87, of Spraggs, died Tuesday evening, March 26, 1958, in the General Hospital, Morgantown, W. VA.

Born January 18, 1871, near Mt. Morris, he was a son of Washington G. Headlee and Mary Jane Lemley Headlee.

His wife, Hanna Mariner Headlee, died in 1933.

He was a member of the Valley Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church, where he was a Sunday School Superintendent for 33 years.
