Mrs. Rebecca Headlee died at home of her son-in-law, David Delaney, in Perry twp., Wed.
morning May 24, 1899, of a complication of diseases aged about 67 years. Deceased was a
highly respected Christian lady. He husband, John E. Headlee, died in the service of his
country during the civil war and left her with a family of four children, three daughters
and one son. One daughter died in early life and the son died upwards of 20 years ago, the
two remaining children are Mrs. Abigail Lemley, wife of John Lemley, and Mrs. Hester J.
Delaney, wife of David Delaney. Mrs. Headlee's maiden name was Connor, being a sister of
Isaac Connor, of Ruffs Creek, Simon O. Connor, of Kirby, Jas. Connor, of Brock, Morgan
Connor, of Days Run, W. Va. and Mrs. Spencer Stephens, of Mt. Morris. Hers was a quiet,
peaceful life and those who knew her best loved her most. Her life was so blameless that
no one ever found fault with her. The funeral was conducted Thursday by Rev. Eckles of
the Mt. Morris M. E. church. Interment in the family burying ground.
