Russell H. Headlee, 69, of Mt. Morris, R.D. 1, a Perry Township auditor,
died suddenly at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 1965, at his residence.
He had been in his usual good health. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was born February 27, 1896, near Brock in Perry Township, a son of the late Oscar and Hannah Marriner Headlee. All of his life was spent in the Brock-Mt. Morris vicinity where he was a member of the Brock Valley Chapel Methodist Church. During 1951-52, he served as State Assemblyman in addition to being a former road supervisor in Perry Township and school teacher. He was well known in the farming and stock raising circles and a graduate of Waynesburg Normal School. Surviving are his wife, Gail Wade Headlee, four brothers, Charles E. Headlee, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Alvah J.W. Headlee, Morgantown, W. Va.; Harry G. Headlee, of College Park, Md.; and Ralph Headlee, Shephardstown, W. Va., and several nieces and nephews.
