Ella Delaney Headlee
Mrs. Ella Delaney Headlee, 87, of 103 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, died at 1:25 p.m. Friday, March 19, 1971, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, following an illness of about three months. She had been seriously ill for about two weeks. Mrs. Headlee was born September 30, 1883, at Mt. Morris, a daughter of David and Hester Headlee Delaney. Her early life was spent in Perry Township, and the last 63 years of her life she lived at Waynesburg. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waynesburg; a charter member of the Worthwhile Bible Class of the church; and of the Women's Society of Christian Service. She was also a member of the Emerald Chapter, Order of the Eastern Start, Waynesburg. Mrs. Headlee was the widow of William W. Headlee, a long-time employee of the First National Bank and Trust Company of Waynesburg. He died October 25, 1948. Surviving are one brother, Robert M. Delaney, of Margate, Fla., and one nephew, David Ralph Delaney, of Norristown. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased. Funeral services were held Sunday with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
