William Glen Headlee Obituary

William Glen Headlee, 80, of 144 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, died at 9:55 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 1980, in Greene County Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

He was born September 16, 1899, in Waynesburg, a son of W.O. and Margaret Headlee Headlee.

He had spent his entire life in the Waynesburg community and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg and a member of the Fort Jackson Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. He had attended Waynesburg High School and Waynesburg College and was graduated from the Pittsburgh Pharmacy School. He was an avid sportsman.

He was a well-known Waynesburg druggist and for several years had worked with the late Carl Spragg in the operation of the Headlee and Spragg Drug Store in Waynesburg. He later owned and operated Headlee's Drug Store in Waynesburg. He retired in 1967. He was a member of several local, state, and national pharmaceutical organizations.

His wife, Helen Gilfillan Headlee, who he married August 2, 1928, survives. He is also survived by a son, Robert M. Headlee of Hamburg, N.Y. and two granddaughters, Cynthia Lee and Susan Elizabeth Headlee.

An infant son, Robert Glen Headlee; four sisters, Cora, Myrtle, Pearl and Effie; and four brothers, Ray, Fay, Rex and Carl, are deceased.

Several nieces and nephews survive.
