Gladys M. Headley
Mrs. Gladys M. Headley, 68, of Lawrenceville, died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, November 23, 1972 in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospita;, Wellsboro, after a lingering illness. Born April 2, 1904 at Brave, she was the daughter of the late A. J. and Zora Headlee Whitehill. Mrs. Headley spent her early life in the Brave community, 30 years in the Spraggs area, five years in Baltimore, Md., and the past 14 years in Lawrenceville. She was married November 9, 1922 to Eskie O. Headley, who survives. The couple had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary several weeks ago. Mrs. Headley was a member of the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, of Brock, and a member of the WSCS of that church. Surviving in addition to her husband, Eskie Headley, are two sons, Eldron Headley, of Lynchburg, Va.; and William Headley, of Newton, N. J.; two daughters, Mrs. Clare (Marjorie) Van Horn, of Lapeer, Mich.;and Mrs. Eugene (Hilda) Lieve, of Landsdale; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilbur (Jack) Whitehill, of Murraysville; and a sister, Mrs. John (Helen) Stockdale, of Waynesburg. Four sisters and a brother are deceased. Services were held Sunday with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Claughton. Newspaper obituary, date and source unknown (Greene County, PA) |
