Danny Ed Humble

Danny Ed Humble, 33, of Waynesburg R.D. 1, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, November 28, 1986, in Greene County Memorial Hospital after a one-year illness.

He was born June 26, 1953, in Washington D.C., a son of John H. Humble Jr. of Waynesburg and the late Bertha Mae Phillips Humble.

Mr. Humble had resided most his life in Waynesburg.

He graduated from Waynesburg Central High School and attended Trevecca Nazarene College, Nashville, Tenn. He was an avid sportsman and for several years played minor league baseball for teams in the Chicago Cubs farm system in Caldwell, Idaho and Scottsdale, Ariz.

He was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene at Waynesburg and served as a supply pastor for several rural churches. He was a former member of Gideons International and was a partner in the family business, Humble and Sons Carpet and Decorating Company.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are his wife, Laura Anderson Humble, whom he married July 1, 1978; two daughters, Rachelle and Danielle, at home; one son, Joshua, at home; his stepmother, Norma Mossholder Christopher Humble; three brothers, Johnny Bill (Weaser) Humble, Gregory Paul (Pee Wee) Humble and Frederick David (Slugger) Humble, all of Waynesburg; a sister, Pamela Sue Humble of Logan, W. Va.; three stepsisters, Mrs. Harry (Karen) Toothman of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Mrs. Holbert (Dianna) White of Waynesburg, and Melanie Christopher of Waynesburg; and three stepbrothers, Kermit Christopher of Orum, Utah, David Christopher of Waynesburg, and Shawn Christopher of Gainesville, Fla.


Correction

In the obituary of Danny Ed Humble of Waynesburg R.D. 1, which was published Sunday, the name of his wife, Lora Anderson Humble, was incorrectly listed at Laura Anderson Humble.
