JOHN HENRY HUMBLE SR.
John Henry Humble Sr., 75, of Waynesburg R.D. 2 (Morrisville), died at 12:25 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 1969, in his home, following a long illness. He was born October 19, 1893, at Heidelburg, the son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Hoverover Humble. Most of his early life was spent in the Pittsburgh area, and he had lived since 1924 at Waynesburg. Mr. Humble was formerly a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Heidelburg. He was a veteran of World War I, serving with the U. S. Navy. Mr. Humble was a retired coal miner and worked several years in the Chartiers Mine. Surviving are his wife, Marie McNeely Humble, whom he married in 1924, one son, John Henry Humble Jr., of Waynesburg; two granddaughters: Mrs. Nancy Smith, of Washington, and Pamela Humble, of Waynesburg; four grandsons, Danny, Johnny, Gregory and Frederick Humble, all of Waynesburg; two sisters: Mrs. Emma O'Connell, of Carnegie, and Sister M. Serena, of Rosemont, Minn., and two brothers: Andrew Humble, of Heidelberg, and Peter Humble, of Mt. Washington. Two daughters, Esther and Eliabeth, one son, Frederick, one sister and four brothers are deceased. Funeral services were held Tuesday with burial in Oakmont Cemetery.
