Lifelong resident of Perry Township

Edith Marie Howard Johnson, 83, of Mt. Morris R.D.1, died at 8:50 a.m. Monday, October 13, 1997, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., following a lengthy illness.

She was born April 22, 1914, in Perry Township, Greene County, a daughter of Lindsey and Nora Lemley Howard.

She lived her entire life in Perry Township, was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris.

Surviving are her husband, Isaac F. Johnson, whom she married January 5, 1937.

Also surviving are two daughters, Barbara Morris of Mt. Morris and Beverly Phillips of Cardiff By The Sea, Calif.; four grandchildren, Sherry Tennant, Jay and Greg Morris and Joy Mason; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased are two sisters, Hazel Renner and Grace Howard; and three brothers, Gleason, Brady and Dewey Howard.


JOHNSON - Friends of Edith Marie Howard Johnson of Mt. Morris R.D.1, who died Monday, October 13, 1997, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Morris, and 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of services, Wednesday, October 15, in the Mt. Morris United Methodist Church with the Revs. Willard Morse, Fred Tomlinson and Robert Peters officiating. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris.
