Alva L. Jones Alva L. Jones, 76, of Brewster Road, Brewster, N.Y., formerly of Brock, died Tuesday, April 9, 1985, in Putnam Hospital, Carmel, N.Y. He was born June 3, 1908, in Perry Township, a son of Melvin Lindsey and Sarah Jane Wood Jones. His wife, Edna Headley Jones, died November 4, 1981. He spent his early life in the Brock area and lived several years in the Bronx, N.Y. For the past 16 years, he resided in Brewster. Until he retired, he was employed as a bus driver for the New York City Transit Authority. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William (Constance) Bieber of Florhan Park, N.J.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Headley of Morgantown, W. Va., Opal Tanner of Mapletown and Bertha Phillips of Spraggs; and three brothers, Albert Jones of Morgantown, Jesse Jones of Spraggs and Clark Jones of Seffner, Fla. Four brothers, Charley, Wayne, Wilbert and Willy; and one sister, Flossie, are deceased. Newspaper obituary, date and source unknown (Greene County, PA)
