William G. Kerr Obituary

Wiliam G. Kerr, 79, of Waynesburg R.D. 2, formerly of 160 Thompson Gardens, Waynesburg, died at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 1985, after a lengthy illness.

He was born May 2, 1905, in jackson Township, a son of Margaret Kerr, and had resided his entire life in Greene County.

Mr. Kerr was a heavy equipment operator and a foreman for various road construction contractors.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Waynesburg and the Loyal Order of the Moose, No. 461.

His wife, Mildred Orndoff Kerr, died December 14, 1976.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Joan) Tokar of Placentia, Calif., Mrs. James (Louella) Underwood of Newton Falls, Ohio, Mrs. Armond (Patricia) Diamonte of Republic, Mrs. Reed (Kathy) Bamberger of Ninevah R.D. 1 and Mrs. Tom (Renee) Jones of Spraggs R.D. 1; two sons, Karl E. Kerr of Long Beach, Calif., and Thomas S. Kerr of Baltimore, Md.; one stepson, William J. Mitchell of Cheswick; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Wesley (Nelle) Huffman of Mt. Washington; and a brother, Robert Kerr of Chillicothe, Ohio.

Deceased are two sisters, Georgia Jones and Elizbeth Knight.


KERR _ Friends of William G. Kerr of Waynesburg R.D. 2, formerly of 160 Thompson Gardens, Waynesburg, who died Tuesday, April 16, 1985, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Glise E. Mariner and Samuel A. Milliken Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 19, with the Rev. Kenneth Thomas and Wesley Huffman officiating. Burial in the Rosemont Cemetery. The Royal Order of the Moose, No. 461, will hold memorial services at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
