Mildred B. Kiger Obituary

Mildred B. Kiger, 78, of Waynesburg RD 3, died at 4:15 P.M. Monday, Jan. 23, 1989, in the Presbyterian Medical Center of Washington following a lengthy illness.

Born Feb. 16, 1910, in Kirby, she was a daughter of William and Stella Headlee Fox.

Her entire life was spent in Greene County. She was a member of the First Nazarene Church of Waynesburg and a housewife.

Her husband, Daws S. Kiger, whom she married Sept. 12, 1929, survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth "Shirley" Shahan Jr. of Amity; a son, Kinsey Allen Kiger of Washington; three grandchildren, Mrs. Larry "Pattie" Staggers, Danny Shahan and Chris Kiger; and one great-granddaughter.

Deceased are two brothers, Ray and Chauncey Fox.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.


Friends of Mildred B. Kiger of Waynesburg RD 3, who died Monday, Jan. 23, 1989, will be received from 2 to 9 P.M. Wednesday in the Milliken & Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be conducted at 1 P.M., Thursday, Jan. 26, by the Rev. Deane Hardy and the Rev. Jeffrey Johnson. Interment in Claughton Cemetery.
