Mrs. Emily H. Lemley

Mrs. Emily H. Lemley, aged 77 years, widow of George Lemley and one of the well known women of southeastern Greene county, died Friday night, April 29, at her home at Mt. Morris. Mrs. Lemley had been in failing health all winter, but about two weeks ago suffered a stroke of paralysis, which resulted in her death. She was a daughter of the late Phineas and Nancy Keener Headley and had been a lifelong resident of the Mt. Morris district. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, with which she united at an early age. The following sons and daughters survive: P. H. Lemley, of Mt. Morris; Garlane Lemley, at home; Mrs. Lindsey Howard, Mrs. Lloyd Cassidy and Mrs. Albert Anderson, all of Mt. Morris. Three sisters and one brother are also living, namely: Mrs. Ellsworth Willamson, of California; Mrs. W. O. Headlee, of Waynesburg; Mrs. A. L. Dulenay [sic], of Mt. Morris, and D. L. Headley, of Waynesburg. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Mt. Morris Methodist Episcopal church. The services were conducted by Rev. H. M. Jenkins, of Kirby, and Rev. Harry Headley, of Pittsburgh. Interment was in the Cedar Grove cemetery, Mt. Morris.

Mrs. Emily H. Lemley, widow of George Lemley, died at her home in Mt. Morris, Friday evening, April 29, aged 77 years, following a week's illness as a result of a stroke of paralysis. She had been in failing health during the past year. Mrs. Lemley was a daughter of Phineas and Nancy Keener Headley, deceased, and had spent her entire life in the community in which she died. She was a life-long member of the Methodist Episcopal church and was highly esteemed. The following children survive: Garland Lemley, at home; P. H. Lemley, Mrs. Lindsey Howard, Mrs. Lloyd Cassidy and Mrs. Albert Anderson, all of Mt. Morris. Three sisters and one brother also survive, Mrs. W. O. Headlee and D. L. Headley, of WaynesburgMrs. Ellsworth Williamson, of California, and Mrs. A. L. Dulaney, of Mt. Morris. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in the Mt. Morris M. E. church, conducted by Rev. Jenkins, of Kirby, assisted by Rev. Harry Headley, of Pittsburgh. Interment in Cedar Grove cemetery.
