Mrs. Frances Lemley
Mrs. Frances J. Evans Lemley, aged 76, wife of Harvey Lemley, died Tuesday afternoon, November 20, 1928, at her home on Shannon Run, near Mt. Morris. She was born in 1852, a daughter of Samuel and Lucinda Evans, and was widely known in the Mt. Morris section. Mrs. Lemley was a member of the Methodist Protestant church of Mt. Morris and was active in church work before she became ill several months ago. She leaves three sons and two daughters: Frank, Oliver and Charles Lemley, and Mrs. W. L. Hickman, all of Mt. Morris, amd Mrs. Walter Rose, of Morgantown, W. Va. Two sisters and four brothers also survive as follows: Mrs. Frank Gump and Mrs. Martha Higgins, of Mt. Morris; George Evans, of near Washington; H. C. Evans, of CIncinnati, Ohio; L. C. Evans, of Waynesburg, and Stockton Evans, of Mt. Morris. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon. Relatives and friends met at the Lemley home at 1 o'clock, going from there to the Methodist Protestant church in Mt. Morris, where services were conducted at 2 o'clock by Rev. M. L. Husted, of Kirby, assisted by Rev. T. H. McMellon, pastor of the Mt. Morris church. Interment was in the Cedar Grove cemetery at Mt. Morris.
