George Garland Lemley, 77, of Mt. Morris R.D. 1, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 1973
in Greene County Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born June 3, 1895 in Perry Township near Mt. Morris, he was the son of the late George Garland Lemley and Emily Headlee Lemley, and was married to the former Mary Temple on September 6, 1939, who survives. Mr. Lemley was a life-long resident of the Mt. Morris area and was a farmer and stock raiser all his life. He was also a veteran of World War I, having erved with the U.S. Army. Mr. Lemley was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Mt. Morris. Surviving in addition to his widow, Mary Temple Lemley, are five sons, William Lemley of Crucible; Harry Lemley of Washington; Jesse Lemley of Waynesburg; David Lee Lemley of Polk; and Joseph Lemley, at home; six daughters, Mrs. James (Marie) Phillips of Waynesburg R.D. 3; Mrs. Harry (Shirley) Burris of Houston; Mrs. Kenneth (Jeanette) Cox of Mt. Morris R.D. 1; Mrs. Ira (Grace) Rogers of Jefferson; Mrs. Vincent (June) Waters of Lexington, Ky., and Bertha Lemley at home; 17 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ella Anderson of Mt.
