LEWIS L. LEMLEY

Lewis Leasure Lemley, 67, well knwon farmer and lifelong resident of Perry Township, died at 10 a.m. Monday, March 22, 1954, at his home, Mt. Morris, R. D. 1.

Mr. Lemley suffered a stroke a year ago but had partially recovered and was able to be up and about, performing many of his farm chores, until last January 5 when he suffered a second stroke. His condition had been serious since that time.

A son of the late John and Abigail Headlee Lemley, he was born April 18, 1886, and live all his life on the farm where he died. He as a member of the Shannon Run Methodist Church.

Surviving besides his wife, Bessie Hillberry Lemley, are one son, Mapel Lemley of Mt. Morris; a grandson, Steven Lemley, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Almira Cooper and Mrs. Julia Conklin of Mt. Morris, and two brothers, Albert Lemley of Mt. Morris and Wilbert Lemley of Kirby.


LEMLEY - Funeral services for Lewis Leasure Lemley of Mt. Morris, R. D., who died Monday, March 22, 1954, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at the Assembly of God Church in Mt. Morris with Rev. Walter C. Long and Rev. Robert Drodge officiating. Burial will be in the family plot on the Lemley farm. Friends will be received at the Weaver Funeral Home, 182 West High street, Waynesburg, from 1 p.m. Tuesday until 11 a.m. Thursday when the body will be removed to the church in Mt. Morris to lie in state there from noon until the hour of the funeral.
