Phyllis (Dot) Headlee Lemley, 79, of Waynesburg, R.D. 2, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 1995, in her home after a brief illness.

She was born February 21, 1916, in Mt. Morris, a daughter of Ross M. and Ethel Headlee Headlee.

Mrs. Lemley was a lifelong resident of Perry and Whiteley townships, and was a member of Kirby Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School and Waynesburg College. She taught for 32 years at Brock, Free Soil and Whiteley Township schools. She was a member of Pennsylvania Teachers Association.

She also raised Hereford cattle with her husband.

Her husband, Ernest C. Lemley, whom she married December 4, 1937, died May 20, 1979.

She is survived by several cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Waynesburg.


Friends of Phyllis (Dot) Headlee Lemley of Waynesburg, R.D. 2, who died Wednesday, March 8, 1995, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 12, with the Rev. Joe Weaver officiating. Burial in Claughton Cemetery, Whiteley Township.
