Sarah Rice Lemmon, 64, of New Freeport, died Saturday, June 9, 1979, at 1:40 p.m. in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born September 7, 1914, in Gilmore Township, a daughter of the late John L. and Mary Phillips Rice. She was married September 15, 1934, to Joseph W. Lemmon, who died October 12, 1969. She was a 1932 graduate of Waynesburg High School and had resided most of her life in the Gilmore Township area where she had served fur many years on the Board of Election. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of the church. She is survived by a son, John F. Lemmon of Daisytown; three daughters, Mrs. Billy (Jane) Glidewell of Traverse City, Mich., Mrs. Thomas (Kay) Braddock of New Freeport, and Mrs. John (Mary Ellen) McCollum of Sycamore R.D. 1; nine grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; a sister, Edna Rice of New Freeport; a brother, James Robert Rice of Jollytown; and a foster brother, Charles E.
