MRS. MARY SMITH LONGSTRETH

Mrs. Mary Smith Longstreth, 69, of 505 North Porter street, Waynesburg, died at 7 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 1964, in her home after an illness of eight months.

She was born June 5, 1895, in Center Township, a daughter of the late C. V. and Agnes Onrdoff Smith.

She resided all her life in the Rogersville Community until 1959 when she and her husband, Thomas M. Longstreth, moved to Waynesburg.

She taught school in Greene County for 33 years until her retirement in 1960.

She also taught in the Rogersville Methodist Church Sunday School for 37 years and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Waynesburg, the WSCS of the church and the Worthwhile Bible Class.

She was a member of the Polly Wayne Garden Club, the Daughters of America, the Daughters of American Colonists, the Women's Auxiliary of the Greene County Memorial Hospital, and the Mothers Study Club of Waynesburg.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Longstreth; one granddaughter, Beverly Jean Longstreth; one brother, J. C. Smith, of Waynesburg, R. D. 5, and one sister, Mrs. Nelle S. Phillips, of Holbrook.

One son, Thomas Smith Longstreth, died in 1956.

Two brothers, Rev. Charles N. Smith and John L. Smith, also are deceased.


LONGSTRETH - Friends of Mrs. Mary Smith Longstreth, 505 North Porter street, Waynesburg, who died Tuesday, December 8, 1964, will be received after 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Garrison Funeral Home, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday with Rev. J. W. Lofgren officiating. Burial in Rosemont Cemetery, Rogersville.
