Lucille V. Madlock, 80, of Jefferson, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.

She was born July 30, 1922, in Cumberland Township, a daughter of Charles L. and Margaret M. Wells Davis.

Mrs. Madlock was a 1941 graduate of Jefferson High School and a homemaker who lived most of her life in Jefferson.

She wrote local news for the Democrat Messenger for many years.

Mrs. Madlock was a member of Jefferson Baptist Church.

On December 1, 1945, she married Henry F. Madlock, who died October 25, 1987.

Surviving are three sons, Terry and David Madlock, both of Waynesburg, and Richard Madlock of Carmichaels; two daughters, Linda Joy Rush and Helen Hughes, both of Waynesburg; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wanita Giovanelli of Fredericktown.

Deceased are a son, Randy Madlock; and a sister, Arveda Christopher.

MADLOCK - Friends of Lucille V. Madlock, of Jefferson, who died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Behm Funeral Home Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, with the Rev. John R. Dorean officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Jefferson Road, Waynesburg.
