LEVI EARL MARTIN
Levi Earl Martin, 49, former Greene County resident, died at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 1956, at his home, Claysville, R. D. 3, after a lingering illness. Born June 19, 1906, at Sycamore, he was a son of the late Samuel D. and Sadie Graham Martin and lived all his life in Greene and Washington Counties, the last 10 years in the Claysville area. He was twice married. His first wife, Madeline Ewart Martin, died in 1928 and by the marriage he leaves one son, Donley Martin, of Dunn Station. He is survived by his second wife, Evelyn Supler Martin, and the following children by that marriage: Edward, David, William, Emma Jo, Monna Lou and Sandra Lu, all at home. He also leaves three grandchildren, two sisters. Mrs. George Dietrich of Syacmore and Mrs. Bernice Lewis of El Cajon, Calif., and one brother, Otto Martin of Waynesburg.
MARTIN - Friends of Levi Earl Martin of Claysville R. D. 3, who died Saturday, April 21, 1956, are being received at the George I. Church Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden street, Waynesburg, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, with Rev. Clarence Neiderheiser officiating. Interment in Oakmont Cemetery. Mr. Martin, a son of the late Samuel D. and Sadie Graham Martin, was born June 19, 1906, at Sycamore, and resided all his life in Greene and Washington counties. He was a farmer by occupation an] made his home for the last 10 years in the Claysville area. His first wife, Mrs. Madeline Ewart Martin, died June 11, 1928. Surviving are his second wife, Evelyn Supler Martin; a son by his forst marriage, Donley Martin, of Dunns Station; six children by his second marriage, Edward, David, William, Emma Jo, Mona Lou and Sandra Lee Martin, all at home; two sisters, Mrs. George Detreich, of Sycamore, and Mrs. Bernice Lewis, of El Cajon Calif; one brother, Otto Martin, of Waynesburg, and three grandchildren.
