Wayensburg - Otto G. Martin, 82, of RD 3, Waynesburg, died 9:15 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1982 at Fillview Nursing Home, Claysville, following an illness of several years.

Born July 18, 1900 at Rogersville, he was the son of the late Samuel D. and Sadie Grimes Martin.

His wife, Georgia Funk Martin, whom he married Dec. 19, 1923, survives.

Having spent all his life in the Waynesburg area, he was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. During his early life, he was employed by Fox-Foley in the oil and gas fields and also for several years worked at the former Waynesburg Brick and Stone. Later, he worked at the state highway barn as a carpenter and painter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Gladys Dietrich of Sycamore and Bernice Lewis of San Diego, Calif. And several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Earl.


MARTIN - Friends of Otto G. Martin of Waynesburg R. D. 3, who died Wednesday, December 29, 1982, will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Glise E. Mariner and Samuel A. Milliken Funeral Home, North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Kenneth Thomas officiating. Burial in Oakmont Cemetery.
