Samuel D. Martin
Samuel D. Martin, aged 72 years, six months and 14 days, prominent and highly respected farmer and stockman of Morris Township, died Wednesday morning, May 15, 1940, at his home on the Sycamore-Ninevah road after a brief illness due to a heart ailment. Mr. Martin was born November 1, 1867, a son of the late Silas and Caroline Crouse Martin and spent most of his life in the community where he died. He married Sarah Ann Graham, who preceded him in death. Mr. Martin was the last of his family. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Gladys Deitrich, of Sycamore; Otto Martin, of Waynesburg, R. D.; Mrs. Bernice M. Lewis, of Waynesburg, and Earl Martin, of Waynesburg, R. D. There are 10 grandchildren.

SAMUEL D. MARTIN, aged 72 years well known farmer and stock raiser of Morris Township, died Wednesday morning, May 15,1940, at his home on the Sycamore-Nineveh road, after a very brief illness. Mr. Martin, a son of Silas and Caroline Crouse Martin, was born November 1, 1867. His wife, Sarah Ann Graham Martin, is deceased. Surviving are four children: Mrs. Gladys Deitreich, of Sycamore; Otto Martin, of Waynesburg, R.D.; Mrs. Bernice M. Lewis, of Waynesburg, R.D.; Earl Martin of Waynesburg, R.D., and 10 grandchildren.
