Margaret L. McGinty
44-year Area Elementary School Teacher

Margaret Lewis McGinty, 88, of Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington, formerly of 680 Summerlea Avenue, Washington, died Monday, June 21, 1999, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington.

She was born June 29, 1910, in Waynesburg, a daughter of James Madison and Haddie Fordyce Lewis.

Mrs. McGinty was a member of First Lutheran Church of Washington.

She taught elementary school for 44 years in the Washington and Trinity Area schools.

Mrs. McGinty was an active member of the Business and Professional Women and a former regent of Washington County Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two sisters, Loretta L. Stewart and Mary Walter; and two brothers, James B. Lewis and Hallie Lewis.


McGINTY - Friends of Margaret Lewis McGinty of Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington, formerly of 680 Summerlea Avenue, Washington, who died Monday, June 21, 1999, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, with the Rev. Kenneth Schott officiating. Those wishing to attend should meet at the cemetery office at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.
