Hazel Patterson Minor, 92, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, December 30, 2000, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va.

She was born December 26, 1908, in Brock, a daughter of Ross and Jennie Jones Patterson.

Mrs. Minor was a homemaker and a member of Valley Chapel United Methodust Church, which she attended all her life and United Methodist Women. She loved to quilt and presented all of her children and grandchildren with quilts that she designed and quilted. She also was well known for her huge meals, homemade bread and pies she prepared for family and friends.

Lisa Lewis was her live-in caregiver.

Surviving are five sons, Francis M. Minor and Robert R. Minor, both of Mt. Morris, Blaine Minor of Crystal River, Fla., Donald Minor of Oxford, Ga., and William R. Minor of Revanna, Ohio; a daughter, Wretha M. Haines of Xenia, Ohio; a brother, Charles Patterson of Temple Hills, Md.; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

On August 17, 1928, she married Bailey Minor, who died in 1980.

Also deceased are two brothers, William Patterson and Francis Guy Patterson; three sisters, Bessie Cole, Bertha Haines and Edith Pierce; and a grandchild.

MINOR - Friends of Hazel Patterson Minor of Mt. Morris, who died Saturday, December 30, 2000, will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday and noon to 1:00 p.m., the time of services, Tuesday, January 2, in Owen-Neely Funeral Home, Blacksville, W. Va. with the Rev. Joe Weaver Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris.
