Mrs. Belle Fordyce Bayard Moore
After an illness of two years, Mrs. Belle Fordyce Bayard Moore, aged 81 years succumbed in her home in Holbrook, R.D., Monday afternoon, Oct. 16, 1944, at 5:55 o'clock. She was the daughter of Silas C. and Mary Jane Orndoff Fordyce, and was born in Center Township, Greene County, on June 18, 1863. She was a member of the Holbrook Christian Church and was a charter member of the Woodruff Grange. She had spent most of her life in Jackson Township. Mrs. Moore was twice married. Her first husband, James Bayard, whom she married on Feb. 27, 1890, died in 1902. In 1905 she married William H. Moore, who survives. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters and one son by her first marriage. They are Mrs. Lucretia Evans, of Holbrook; Mrs. Georgia Filby, of Waynesburg and Samuel S. Bayard, of Holbrook. She was the oldest of a family of ten children, three of whom survive: W. L. Fordyce, of Waynesburg, R.D. 5; A. G. Fordyce, of West Alexander and Garfield Fordyce, of New Salem, Pa. Also surviving are six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral Notice MOORE - Funeral services for Mrs. Belle Fordyce Bayard Moore, wife of William H. Moore, of Holbrook, R.D., who died Monday evening, Oct. 16, 1944, will be held Thursday afternoon, Oct. 19, at two o'clock from the late residence, in charge of the Rev. F. H. Gerrett, of Pittsburgh. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Moore residence at any time. Ralph A. Scott, of Rogersville, is the funeral director.
