Prominent Farmer Summoned by Death
James Benjamin Moredock, aged 72, prominent Greene township farmer, died Tuesday afternoon, September 30, 1930, at 3:30 in the Greene County Memorial hospital following an illness of six months. Mr. Moredock was born July 11, 1858, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Hufty Moredock, and spent all his life in Greene township. Mr. Moredock was one of Greene county's most successful and well-to-do farmers and stockmen, and was the last of his family. His wife, Belle Fordyce Moredock, died 22 years ago. An adopted daughter, Mrs. Harry Moredock, at home, survives. Mr. Moredock was a member of the Methodist Protestant church at Fordyce. Funeral services were held at the Moredock home yesterday afternoon at 2:30, with Rev. Elmer Schott, of Fordyce, officiating. Interment was in the family burying ground.
