Charles W. Orndoff
Charles W. Orndoff, 90, of 341 Park Ave., Waynesburg, a long-time Waynesburg businessman, died at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 1975, in West Virginia University Hospital, Morgantown. He had been seriously ill for the past three weeks. He was born April 26, 1885 at Holbrook, a son of Isaac and Harriet Headlee Orndoff. His widow, Grace E. Orndoff, whom he married May 19, 1917, survives. A graduate of Slippery Rock State Teachers College, he had taught school for several years following his graduation. Later he owned and operated a general store and Post Office at Holbrook. He moved to Waynesburg in 1922, and for 20 years operated a grocery and meat store. In 1946, Mr. Orndoff purchased the Waynesburg Restaurant which he operated until his retirement. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Waynesburg. Surviving in addition to his widow, Grace E. Orndoff, are one son: Ted H. Orndoff, St. Petersburg, Fla. and one granddaughter, Janice Orndoff. Two sisters and one brother are deceased.
