Mrs. Carrie B. Patterson

Funeral rites were held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Carrie B. Patterson, aged 56, widow of David Patterson, who died Sunday night, Oct. 8, at her home near Claughton Chapel, Whiteley Township. Short services were held in the Patterson home, followed by further rites in the Claughton chapel church. The services were in charge of Rev. C. W. Spragg, of Mt. Morris, assisted by Rev. Mr. Richardson, of Reevesville, W. Va. Interment was in the Claughton cemetery. Mrs. Patterson had been in failing health for some time and was seriously ill one week. Diabetes was the cause of her death. A daughter of James L. Connor and Jane Hoy Connor, she was born October 2, 1877, and spent all her life in Greene county. She was a member of the Claughton Chapel church. Her husband died April 11, 1909. The following children survive: Tracy Patterson, of Spraggs; Irwin Patterson, of Kirby; Mrs. Randolph Staggers, of Waynesburg, R. D. 3, and Francis Patterson, at home. One half-brother, Kelsey Connor, of Spraggs, R. D. 1, and two grandchildren also survive.
