Elizabeth Cole Patterson

Elizabeth Cole Patterson, 84, of 490 Franklin Farms, Washington, former of the Oak Forest area, died at 1:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 1972 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Willis (Geraldine) Hartley, of Washington.

Mrs. Patterson had not been in the best of health for some time.

She was born March 14, 1887 in Center Township (Hargus Creek) a daughter of Peter and Hannah Cooper Cole. Most of her life was spent in the Oak Forest and Hargus Creek areas of Greene County and the past few years with her daughter.

Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Pursley Baptist Church and when her health permitted, was very active in church functions. She was also affiliated with the Faith Presbyterian Church of Washington.

Her husband, Hal W. Patterson, died March 31, 1961.

Surviving in addition to her daughter Mrs. Hartley, are two sons, Arthur L. Patterson, of Pine Bank and William Alfred Patterson, of Waynesburg; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Laura Kent, of Fayette City and one brother, Ogle Cole, of Brave, and several nieces and nephews.

Four sisters and three brothers are deceased.

Funeral services were held Thursday with burial in Greene County Memorial Park.
