Mrs. Elizabeth Patterson

Mrs. Elizabeth Patterson, wife of Thomas Patterson, of Mt. Morris, died at her home Tuesday morning, April 19, at 6 o'clock, aged 74 years, five months and seven days. Neuralgia of the heart was the cause of her death, which followed a brief illness. Mrs. Patterson had been a lifelong resident of the Mt. Morris community and was widely known in southeastern Greene County. She was a daughter of Asbury and Rachel Headley Lemley and was born November 12, 1852. She was married December 4, 1873, to Thomas Patterson, who survives. To this union two children were born, one son, Edward, at home, surviving. She also leaves three brothers and three sisters: John, David and Lewis Lemley, Mrs. William Howard, Mrs. Alfred Stewart and Mrs. Johnathan Kennedy, all of Mt. Morris. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Funerl services were held at the Patterson home yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. M. Jenkins, of Kirby. Interment was in the Cedar Grove cemetery at Mt. Morris.

Mrs. Elizabeth Lemley Patterson, wife of Thomas Patterson, died at their home in Mt. Morris, Tuesday morning, April 19, aged 74 years, of neuralgia of the heart. She was a daughter of Asbury and Rachel Headley [sic], and was born in Perry township. On December 4, 1873, she was united in marriage with Thomas Patterson, who with one son, Edward Patterson, at home, survives. She also leaves three brothers and three sisters, John, David and Lewis Lemley, Mrs. William Howard, Mrs. Alfred Stewart and Mrs. Jonathan Kennedy, all of the Mt. Morris community. The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Jenkins. Interment in Cedar Grove cemetery.
