Hal W. Patterson

Hal W. Paterson, 73, well-known retired farmer and livestock dealer of Waynesburg R. D. 5 (Oak Forest), died unexpectedly at 7:15 a.m. Friday, March 31, 1961, at his residence. He had not been in the best of health for some months from a heart condition.

Born August 6, 1887, in Center Township, he was a son of William F. and Sudie Whitlatch Patterson, and lived on the same farm on which he was born in Center Township.

He and his wife, the former Elizabeth Cole, who survives, celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary or Nov. 9 of last year. In addition to he wife he is survived by a daughter, Geraldine, wife of W.A Hartley of Washington; two sons, Arthur L. Patterson of Pine Bank and William Alfred Patterson of Waynesburg, R. D. 5; eight grandchildren, and three brothers: Dorse and Earl, both of Waynesburg, and Byron of Waynesburg, R. D. 5. Five brothers are deceased.

Mr. Patterson was an active member of the Pursley Baptist Church and for the past 50 years served in every official capacity in that church.
