Marie Hoy Patterson Obituary

Marie Hoy Patterson, 66, of Waynesburg, R. D. 3, died at 12:08 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 1969 in the University Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. She had been seriously ill for the past three months.

Born September 9, 1902 in Whiteley Township, near Kirby, she was the daughter of the late Otho and Elizabeth Strosnider Hoy.

She lived all her life in the Kirby and Fairall areas where she was a member of the Claughton Chapel of the United Methodist Church, and the WSCS of the church.

Mrs. Patterson was active in the Whiteley Township Farm Women's Society, and at the time of her death was secretary of the Whiteley Township Road Supervisors.

Her husband, Irwin Patterson, died August 23, 1964.

Surviving are two daughters: Carolyn, wife of Donald Yoders, of Cameron, R. D. 1, W. Va., and Linda, wife of Glenn McCracken, of Mt. Morris; one son, William Hoy, of Warren, Ohio; eight grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Mary Stephens, of Waynesburg, and Mrs. Melva (Pearl) Mason, of Carmichaels, R. D. 1, and two brothers: Earl Hoy, of Ho-Ho-Kus, N. J., and Charles L. Hoy, of Waynesburg, R. D. 3, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday with burial in Claughton Cemetery.
