Vera Patterson Graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing Vera Willison Patterson, 76, of Chambersburg, formerly of Waynesburg, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at Shook Home in Chambersburg. She was born November 12, 1922, in Sycamore, a daughter of Ralph and Margaret Ealy Willison. Mrs. Patterson was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing and California University of Pennsylvania. Early in her career, she worked for Magee Women's Hospital and Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh. She returned to Waynesburg as a supervisor at Greene County Memorial Hospital and retired from the state Department of Health, where she was employed as a public health nurse. Mrs. Patterson served as an original member of Greene County Hospice Inc. and was a longtime member of the Advisory Board of Greene County Children and Youth Agency. She was a longtime church member. Surviving are two sons, Dr. E. Britt Patterson of Chambersburg and Grady M. Patterson of Westfield, Mass.; a daughter, Megan Reynolds of Jefferson, Va.; three grandchildren, Clay and Luke Patterson and Mattie Reynolds; and a brother, J. Kenneth Willison of Waynesburg. PATTERSON - Friends of Vera Willison Patterson of Chambersburg, formerly of Waynesburg, who died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Behm Funeral Home Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 16, with the Rev. Charles McCollum officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice Care of Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, Salvation Army, 424 Third Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, or the Humane Society of Greene County, R.R. 3 Box 96A, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
