Mary Etta Pyles
Mary Etta Pyles, 87, of Waynesburg R. D. 1 died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, December 22, 1986, in Greene County Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past several months. She was born June 4, 1899, in Dunkard Township to Joseph and Rebecca Rice Fordyce. A housewife, her entire life was spent in Greene County. Mrs. Pyles was a member of the Winnet Chapel of United Methodist Church. Her husband, John K. Pyles, died August 6, 1989. Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Pearl Patterson of Washington, Mrs. John (Nellie) Krupzig of Marianna R. D. 1, Mrs. Raymond (Emma) Smith and Mrs. Thomas (Ethel) Holmes of Washington, Mrs. George (Lucy) Popp of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Kenneth (Mildred) Davis of Waynesburg R.D. 1, and Mrs. Kenneth (Alma Jean) Turner of Prosperity R. D. 2; two sons, Harry W. of Waynesburg R. D. 1 and John Pyles Jr. of Marianna; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Flora Herrod of Waynesburg, Margaret Callahan of Warren, Ohio, Olive Fox of Clarksville R. D. 1 and Josephine Kerns of Warren, Ohio; and three brothers, George Fordyce of Waynesburg, Hartford Fordyce of Munhall and Miller Fordyce of Clarksville R. D. 1. Deceased are a grandson; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Edith; and four brothers, James, Richard, Joseph and Minor Fordyce. Newspaper obituary, date and source unknown (Greene County, PA) |
