Blanche A. Smouse, 85, of Box 266, Rices Landing R.D.1, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2001, in Beverly Health Care, Waynesburg.

She was born April 1, 1916, in Greene County, a daughter of Jacob G. and Mary Longstreth Fordyce.

Mrs. Smouse was a member of First Christian Church of Waynesburg.

She was a graduate of Waynesburg High School and a homemaker.

Her husband, Vernon L. Smouse, died April 14, 1951.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Faddis of Rices Landing; two sons, J. Warren (Jack) and Carl Douglas Smouse, both of Waynesburg; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Smouse was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased are a son, Wilbert G. (Ted) Smouse; and three brothers, Wilbert, Lawrence and Carl Fordyce.


SMOUSE - Friends of Blanche A. Smouse of Box 266, Rices Landing R.D.1, who died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, with Gregg Wilgus officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Rogersville. Information online is available at www.milliken-throckmortonfh.com.
