Blanche A. Smouse Rices Landing homemaker Blanche A. Smouse, 85, of Box 266, Rices Landing R.D.1, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2001, in Beverly Health Care, Waynesburg. She was born April 1, 1916, in Greene County, a daughter of Jacob G. and Mary Longstreth Fordyce. Mrs. Smouse was a member of First Christian Church of Waynesburg. She was a graduate of Waynesburg High School and a homemaker. Her husband, Vernon L. Smouse, died April 14, 1951. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Faddis of Rices Landing; two sons, J. Warren (Jack) and Carl Douglas Smouse, both of Waynesburg; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smouse was the last of her immediate family. Deceased are a son, Wilbert G. (Ted) Smouse; and three brothers, Wilbert, Lawrence and Carl Fordyce. SMOUSE - Friends of Blanche A. Smouse of Box 266, Rices Landing R.D.1, who died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, with Gregg Wilgus officiating.
