Harold R. Sproat Retired from Brockway Glass Co. Harold R. "Horne" Sproat, 85, of Ruff Creek, formerly of Washington, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2001, in his home. He was born April 20,1916, in Khedive, Greene County, a son of Samuel and Lela Davis Sproat. On August 11, 1941, he married Esther Bryan who died May 1, 1986. Mr. Sproat graduated from Washington High School. He worked for Brockway Glass Co. and retired after 42 years of service Surviving are a son, John (Sam) Sproat of Ruff Creek, with whom he made his home; and two grandchildren, Bryan Sproat and Abby Neupaver. Deceased are a brother, Edwin; and two daughters, Sally and Nancy. SPROAT - Friends of Harold R. Sproat of Ruff Creek, formerly of Washington, who died Wednesday, December 12, 2001, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 15, with the Rev. William Meyer officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to American Heart Association, 10 Duff Road, Suite 304, Pittsburgh, PA 15235 or to a charity of one's choice.
