Mrs. Harriet F. Sproat
Mrs. Harriet Fordyce Sproat, aged 76, wife of Jacob Sproat, died Friday, March 21, 1930, at her home near the Children's Home in Morgan township following an extended illness due to a complication of ailments incident to her advanced years. Mrs. Sproat was a daughter of Alfred and Priscilla Fordyce and spent most of her life in Morgan township where she was widely known and highly respected. Besides her husband she leaves ten children, namely: Lantz Sproat, John Sproat and Mrs. William I. Taylor, of Waynesburg; Mrs. S. T. Huber, of Winkinsburg; C. R. Sproat and Samuel Sproat, of Washington; Mrs. C. C. Grooms, of Khedive; William Sproat, of Spokane, Washington; Noah Sproat, of Waynesburg, R. D. 6, and Miss Anna Sproat, at home. Two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Phillips, of Fairview, W. Va., and Mrs. Jane Evans, of Bedford, Iowa, also survive. There are 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Sproat home and were conducted by Rev. Francis C. Viele, pastor of the Waynesburg Methodist Protestant church, assisted by Rev. H. M. Mrs. Jacob Sproat, Aged 76, Dies in Her Morgan Township Home Waynesburg, March 21. - Mrs. Harriet Fordyce Sproat, aged 76 years, wife of Jacob Sproat, died today at her home near the Children's Home in Morgan township. She had been ill for several weeks and her deathw as due to a complication of diseases incident to her advanced years. Mrs. Sproat was a daughter of Alfred and Priscilla Fordyce and had spent most of her life in Morgan township, where she is well and favorably known. She is survived by her husband and 10 children. The children are: Lantz Sproat, John Sproat and Mrs. William I. Taylor, of Waynesburg; Mrs. S. T. Huber, of Wilkinsburg; C. R. Sproat and Samuel Sproat, of Washington; Mrs. C. C. Grooms, of Khedive; William Sproat of Spokane, Washington; Noah Sproat, Waynesburg, R. D. 6; and Miss Anna Sproat, at home. Two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Phillips, Fairview, W.
