HENRY LANTZ (LON) SPROAT
Henry Lantz (Lon) Sproat, 96, of Waynesburg, R. D. 3, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 1967, after a lingering illness. Mr. Sproat was born October 31, 1871, in Greene Township near Garards Fort, the son of Jacob S. and Harriet Fordyce Sproat. His wife, Emma Ankrom Sproat, died in 1946. Mr. Sproat was a member of the Coallick Methodist Church and lived in Greene County all of his life. He was the oldest of a family of 10 and was a farmer and a stock grazer [sic] all his life. Surviving are one brother, Samuel H. Sproat, of Washington, and one sister, Anna M. Sproat, of Waynesburg. Four brothers and three sisters are deceased. Funeral services were held Saturday with burial in Smith Cemetery.
SPROAT - Friends of Henry Lantz (Lon) Sproat, who died Wednesday, November 8, 1967, will be received after 7 p.m. Thursday in the William W. Garrison Funeral Home, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in charge of Rev. J. W. Lofgren. Burial in Smith Cemetery.
