Mrs. Jessie A. Sproat

Mrs. Jessie A. Sproat, 88, died after a long illness at 5 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 1971, in the home of her son, J. Milton Sproat, of Waynesburg, R. D. 5, with whom she resided.

Mrs. Sproat was the widow of John K. Sproat, who died January 16, 1938.

A daughter of Jack and Josephine Bradford Cummins, she was born July 16, 1882, in Franklin Township and resided most of her life in Center Township. She was a member of the Throckmorton United Methodist Church and of the WSCS of the church.

Surviving in addition to her son are three grandchildren: Mrs. Judith Stanzack, of Harbor Creek; Robert Sproat, in the U. S. Coast Guard and stationed at Arlington, Va., and Richard Sproat, of Pittsburg; five great-grandchildren, and a nephew, Cecil Cummins, of Pine Bank.

Three sons, Arleigh, Raymond and Kenneth Sproat; and a brother, Inghram Cummins, are deceased.

Funeral services were held Saturday with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
