John K. Sproat John K. Sproat, aged 64, prominent Center Township farmer, died at his home at 11:50 a.m. yesterday, Jan. 14, of complications following a month's serious illness.

Mr. Sproat was born September 6, 1873, in Whiteley township, a son of Jacob and Harriett Fordyce Sproat. He was married 35 years ago to Jessie Cummins and had lived for the past five years in Center Township. For the previous 30 years he had made his home in Franklin Township. In early life, Mr. Sproat was a member of the Coallick M. P. church and was later associated with the Throckmorton M. E. Church.

Surviving are his wife; his father; three sons, Arleign C. Sproat, Tioga; Raymond F. Sproat and Milton Sproat, at home; two grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: H. L. Sproat, Waynesburg, R. D. 2; Mrs. W. I. Taylor, California State; Mrs. Callie Huber, Wilkinsburg; C. R. Sproat, Washington, Pa.; Mrs. C. C. Grooms, Khedive; William Sproat, Washington State; Noah Sproat, Waynesburg, R.D.; Samuel Sproat, Washington, Pa.; Miss Annie Sproat, Waynesburg, R. D. A son, Kenneth, is deceased.

Short services will be held at the home Sunday at 1 p.m. with further services in the Throckmorton M. E. Church in charge of Rev. Kenneth Rutter. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery.

John K. Sproat

John K. Sproat, aged 64 years, a well known farmer, died at his home in Center Township, Friday, January 14, following a month's illness. Mr. Sproat was born in Whiteley township, a son of Jacob and Harriet Fordyce Sproat. He resided in Franklin township for thirty years, where he engaged in farming and stock raising, removing to near Rogersville five years ago. In early life, Mr. Sproat became a member of the Coallick Methodist Protestant church. Later he attended the Throckmorton Methodist Episcopal church. In 1903 he was united in marriage with Miss Jennie Cummins, who survives. He also leaves his father, Jacob Sproat; three sons, Alrleigh Sproat, of Tioga, PAa.; Raymond and Milton Sproat, at home, and the following brothers and sisters: H. L. Sproat, Waynesburg, R.D. 2; Mrs. W. I. Taylor, California State; Mrs. Calie Huber, Wilkinsburg, O.R. Sproat, Wahington, Pa.; Mrs. C. C. Grooms, Khedive, William Sproat, Washington State; Noah Sproat, Waynesburg R.D.; Samuel Sproat, Washington, Pa., and Miss Annie Sproat, Waynesburg R.D. One son, Kenneth, is deceased. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in Throckmorton Methodist Episcopal church, conducted by Rev. Kenneth Rutter. Interment was made in Rosemont cemetery, Rogersville.
