S. Louise Sproat Elementary teacher in Greene County for 18 years S. Louise Sproat, 81, of Waynesburg R.D. 4 (East View), died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 1994, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, after being in failing health for two years. She was born October 7, 1912, in Rogersville, a daughter of Irvin and Emma Lightner Huffman. Mrs. Sproat had been a resident of Center Township all of her life, prior to moving to East View in 1988. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher and treasurer of Throckmorton United Methodist Church and a member of United Methodist Women. She graduated from Center Township High School in 1932 and received her teaching certification from Waynesburg College. She was a member of the State and National Education associations and Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Sproat was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the East Franklin Grange. She was employed as an elementary school teacher in the Center Township schools for 18 years, prior to retiring in 1975. On May 25, 1938, she married J. Milton Sproat, who survives. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one brother, C. Frank Huffman of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
SPROAT - Friends of S. Louise Sproat of Waynesburg R.D. 4 (East View), who died Thursday, February 10, 1994, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 14, with the Rev.
