Funeral Today For Well Known Farmer
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon for Brazil Stephens, aged 64, well known Whiteley township farmer, who died at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Jan 15, at his home on the Waynesburg-Mt. Morris road after an illness due to pneumonia and complications. The memorial rites will be held at 2 o'clock in the Fairall Methodist Episcopal church, in charge of Rev. George S. Baggett and Rev. H. M. Jenkins, present and former pastors of the Fairall circuit, respectively. Interment will be in the Fairall cemetery. Mr. Stephens was born in Whiteley township in 1868, a son of Bowen R. and Adaline Stephens, and spent all his life in that section as a farmer and stock raiser. He was married twice. His first wife was Miss Laura Strosnider, and after her death he married Miss Gertrude Headley, who survives. He also leaves one foster son, Floyd Davis, of Whiteley township, and the following brothers and sisters: F. E. Stephens, of Waynesburg; Hartford Stephens, of Whiteley township; Mrs. Margaret Shultz, of Hopeville, Ohio; Mrs. Josie Lemley and Mrs. Lydia Zimmerman, of Whiteley township, and Mrs. H. R. PNEUMONIA IS FATAL TO BRAZIL STEPHENS WAYNESBURG, Jan. 15. - Brazil Stephens, aged 64 years, well-known farmer of Whiteley Township, died at 3:30 p.m. today in his home on the Waynesburg-Mt. Morris road, after a few days' illness of pneumonia. He was born in Whiteley Township in 1868, and was a son of Bowen and Adaline Stephens. He spent his entire life in that township, where he followed farming and stock-raising. He was married twice. His first wife was Miss Flora Strosnider, and after her death he married Miss Gertrude Headley, who survives. He also leaves one foster son, Floyd Davis, of Whiteley Township, and the following brothers and sisters: Wort Stephens, Waynesburg; Hartford Stephens, Whiteley Township; Mrs. Margaret Shultz, Hopeville, O.; Mrs. Josie Lemley and Mrs. Lydia Zimmerman, Kirby, and Mrs. Ross Phillips, Waynesburg. He was a member of the Kirby Methodist Episcopal Church. Funeral services will be held in the Fairall Methodist Episcopal Church Tuesday at 2 o'clock, in charge of Rev. George S. Baggett and Rev. H.
