Hal R. Stockdale Greene County native Hal R. Stockdale, 76, a Greene County native, died Wednesday, July 1, 1998. Mr. Stockdale was born October 2, 1921, a son of Layton and Molly Stockdale. Surviving are his wife, Lillian G. Stockdale of Decatur, Ga.; one daughter, Deborah S. Peeples of Lawrenceville, Ga.; three sons, Douglas L. Stockdale of Marietta, Ga., Dennis H. Stockdale of Bamberg, S.C., and Darin F. Stockdale of Decatur; and four grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home, Decatur, with the Rev. Ronald Hieber officiating. Interment will be in the Midway Presbyterian Churchyard.
