Mary Elizabeth Stoneking
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Stoneking, aged 75 years, widow of Minor Stoneking, who died five years ago, died at the home of her daughter, Mr. L. L. Knott [sic], of Sherman avenue, Saturday afternoon, February 1, 1936, at 5 o'clock. she had been ill for the past several weeks. The deceased was a daughter of Samuel and Nancy Steele Headley and she was born in Brock where she spent nearly all her life. Surviving are five children, Raymond Stoneking, of Thurman, Ohio; Alvin Stoneking, of Davistown; William Stoneking, of Brock; Mrs. L. L. Knotts, of Waynesburg, and Mrs. Jacob Livengood, of Greensboro. Six brothers and sisters also survive: Sherman Headley, of West Middletown, Ohio; W. E. Headley and David Headley, of Spraggs; Francis Headley of Kughntown; Mrs. Carolyn Zimmerman, of Blacksville, and Mrs. Belle Fox, of Mt. Morris. Mrs. Stoneking was a lifelong member of the Valley Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church. Funeral services will be held from the home of Mrs. Knotts Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Frederick Spielman, pastor of the Fairall Methodist Episcopal Circuit. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery at Davistown. Democrat Messenger, February 3, 1936 (Greene County, PA) |
