Local Man Dies In New York Hospital

Word has been received here of the death of Samuel R. Throckmorton, 42, former Waynesburg and Rogersville resident, who died Tuesday, May 6, 1930, in the Harlem hospital, New York.

His death was due to injuries receied in some unknown manner. Attorney Frank Throckmorton yesterday received a telegram stating that Mr. Throckmorton had been picked up on a street in New York by a taxi driver on the evening of April 29. He was unconscious when found and was suffering from an abrasion on his forehead. The taxi driver took him to the Harlem hospital where his death occurred.

Mr. Throckmorton was a son of W. S. Throckmorton and Amanda Cross Throckmorton, deceased, and was born and reared in Rogersville. He spent practically all his life in Rogersville and Waynesburg. He is survived by his wife, Alice Crouse Throckmorton and three children, Lillian, Ruth and an infant daughter. One brother, Elzie Throckmorton, of Waynesburg, also survives.
