JOHN E. WHITE

John E. Wite, 78, of Waynesburg, R. D., died in his home following a lingering illness at 2 a.m Saturday, June 27, 1953. He was a former county auditor.

A son of the late A. R. and Clarinda Fordyce White, the deceased was born July 24, 1874 and resided all his life in Greene County.

His wife, Rachel McNurlen White, preceded him in death 21 years ago.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edith Guthrie of Grove City and Mrs. Margaret Shoup of Waynesburg; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, George White of Oak Forest, Clyde White of Waynesburg, R. D., and Harold White of Wayneeburg, and one sister, Mrs. Artie Headley of Winterset, Iowa.

Two sons are deceased.


WHITE - Friends of John E. White, of Waynesburg, R. D., who died Saturday, June 27, 1953, are being received at the Church Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden street, Waynesburg, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, woth the Rev. Roy Strosnider officiating. Burial will follow in Pursley Cemetery.

John E. White, 78, of R.D. 1, Waynesburg, died at 2 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 1953 after a lingering illness. He was the husband of Rachel McNurlen, who died 21 years ago.

Born July 24, 1874 in Greene Co., he was the son of the late A. R. White and Clarinda Fordyce White.

He was a former county auditor and all his life had been spent in Greene County.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edith Gutherie, of Grove City; and Margaret Shoup, of Waynesburg; 10 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three brothers, George White, of Oak Forest; Clyde White, of Waynesburg R.D.; Harold White, of Waynesburg; and one sister, Mrs. Artie Headley of Winterset, Iowa. Two sons are deceased.
