Fannie Rinehart Whitlatch Obituary

Fannie Rinehart Whitlatch, 87, of Waynesburg R.D. 2 (Morrisville), died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 1977 in the Bristor's Guest Home, Waynesburg. She had been seriously ill for the past two weeks.

Mrs. Whitlatch was born January 4, 1890 in Franklin Township (Morrisville), a daughter of the late Simon and Mary Ellen Lippencott Rinehart.

She spent all her life in the Waynesburg areaabd was a lifelong member of the Morrisville United Methodist Church. While health permitted she was very active in church activities.

Mrs. Whitlatch was the oldest Waynesburg merchant and for several years owned and operated the Fashion Shop.

She belonged to the United Methodist Women, the Daughters of America, the Ladies Auxiliary of the James Farrell American Legion, Waynesburg. She also belonged to the Eight and Forty Auxiliary and the Waynesbrg Chamber of Commerce.

She was interested in bowling and had bowled for a local club as long as health permitted.

Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Nelle Morris Canan and Mrs. James (Betty) Morris Scott, both of Waynesburg R.D. 2, and both of whom she raised.

Several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews also survive.

Two sisters, Nettie Morris and Matie Smith, three brothers, Charles, Edward and Herman Rinehart, two infant sisters and two infant brothers, are deceased.
