CLYDE A. WHYTE

Clyde A. Whyte, 83, of Waynesburg, R.D. 5, died at 4:30 p.m., Friday, July 19, 1968, at his residence. He had not been in the best of health for the past nine months.

He was born December 25, 1884, in Gilmore Township, near Bluff, a son of the late A.R. and Clarinda Fordyce Whyte. He was married July 27, 1912, to the former Georgia Kerns, who survives. The early part of his life was spent in Bluff, with the early 1920s In the oil fields of Oklahoma and the last several years In Waynesburg.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, of Waynesburg and a retired employee of the Manufacturers Light and Heat Company, having retired on January 1. 1950.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Henrietta Whyte, of Waynesburg; one son, Harold A. of Pittsburgh; three granddaughters, Mrs. Shelva Kay Geedey, of Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Sybil Thomas, of Aliquippa and Darlene E. Whyte, of Waynesburg; three grandsons, Clyde E. Santee, of Waynesburg; Gary W. Whyte, of Altoona and Clyde David Whyte, of Waynesburg; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Artie Headley of Winterset, Iowa and one brother, Harold R. of Waynesburg.

Three daughters, Ruth Anna and Louise Whyte and Mrs. Louella Santee and three brothers are deceased.


WHYTE -Friends of Clyde A. Whyte, of Waynesburg, R.D. 5, who died Friday, July 19,1968, are being received after 7 p.m., Saturday, in the Mariner and Milliken Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 am. Monday, with Rev. Dean Hughes officiating. Burial In Greene County Memorial Park.
